Eleven-Plus (Secondary Transfer) Tests are often used to determine whether your child is suited to the academic rigours of joining grammar school education.

With the right preparation, give your child every opportunity to succeed and set them up for a bright future!

11+ exams assess a student’s ability in 4 key areas of English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. We adapt our programmes to each individual child’s learning style and requirements, covering each core section and focusing on areas that require further improvement.

Verbal & Non-Verbal reasoning

We provide students with the tools needed to solve problems and follow sequences involving words and text. Through verbal reasoning tests, we help develop our students’ English, grammar and vocabulary. Our pupils are also taught how to effectively use Non-verbal reasoning techniques to solve problems with diagrams and pictures.

11+ Maths

Our aim is to develop your child’s logical thinking and reasoning skills to ensure they can quickly solve mental maths problems using advanced methods.
Students are taught how to comprehend and interpret worded Maths questions as well as more straightforward problem solving techniques involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.

11+ English

Most children have a natural creative streak, but as anyone who has tried it knows, getting an idea out of your head and onto a piece of paper can be very challenging! The English paper puts your child’s creative writing skills to the test as they have to plan, structure and write a piece of work.

At Evergreen Education we encourage children to use their senses and write a piece as if their audience were a total stranger to story listening.  Pupils are encouraged to glean and absorb ideas from the world around them and in particular write about what they know and love…

Our tutors encourage pupils to use effective planning techniques. With excellent teaching strategies on planning and using a wide range of vocabulary, students can use plenty of verbs and adjectives to confidently answer questions through immersive storytelling.

  • Describe who are the characters?
  • Where is the story set?
  • What is the plot – what will happen in the story?
  • How will the story begin?
  • What will happen in the middle?
  • How will it end?
